What is Dual Credit?

The Jefferson Township Local School District is working with Sinclair Community College to bring college credits to our students! Dual Credit means that our participating students are earning credits towards their college degree while satisfying requirements for their Jefferson High School Diploma. All of this is happening on-site at the Jefferson Township Jr/Sr High School and at absolutely no cost to families.

This is such an exciting opportunity for our community that it made the headlines of the Dayton Daily News December 2011 and most recently February 2015.

Also take a look at recent graduates Taylor Bell and C.V. Mitchell being honored at Sinclair Community College 2014 Commencement!

The Jefferson Township Jr/Sr High School Dual Credit program is open to all students who qualify.

If you would like to know more about the Dual Credit program or what to do to get started, contact the School Counselor Mrs. Chavin Lewis at (937) 835-5691.

Some courses require a placement test called the Accuplacer ©.

For information and practice regarding the test please see the following links:

College Board – This is the organization that creates the test, so the sample questions here very closely resemble what you will see on the actual test.

Study Guide Zone – This is a good site for study guides, but note that not all the reading sample questions closely match the Accuplacer, and that Algebra and College Math are not covered.

Aims Community College – This site has an excellent breakdown of questions and answers, as well as giving very good test taking strategies for each section.  Unfortunately, it does not cover the reading comprehension section at all.
